i have been making a lot of amigurumi lately, which i am very happy about! i seem to go through waves of loving it, then waves of not making any. But seeing how much the twins love them, especially Layla, i want to make them all!! Even though they both have so many, it is actually getting a little ridicolous, even more so when Layla wants to add each new one to her bed, every night 😬😍
i made Janis using a mixure of Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply Cotton & Painbox Yarns Cotton.
Of course, i had to add a rainbow touch – & so i made Janis’ headphones with a rainbow design. Using the new metallic yarn from Paintbox Yarns on her arms & legs too.
What i used to make Janis:
Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK:
Details on arms & legs – Lipstick Pink (Cotton) & Paintbox Yarns Metallic – Tequila Sunrise
Buttercup Yellow for the join between the speakers (no idea what the technical name is!)
i did the speakers in Rainbow colours, starting with Pansy Purple, then Marine Blue, Lime Green, Buttercup Yellow, Blood Orange, Rose Red, Lipstick Pink, 1 x row of Metallic Tequilla Sunrise, & finishing with Lipstick Pink again.
Eye: Paper White
Mouth: Pure Black
Eye – 12mm safety eye
If you would like to make your own Janis, you can find the pattern, along with lots more fun monsters in Amigurumi Monsters 2 here! i also have Amigurumi Monsters (1) & love it. As well, as Dinosaurs, Mammoths & More Prehistoric Amigurumi (i made Brad the Brontosaurus, you can see him here). Unicorns, Dragons & More Fantasy Creatures (see my Harriet here).
Layla immediately fell in love with Walt, a monster i made using another pattern by lovely Ozlem @ring_beller, & he has been her constant companion since i made him.
As soon as i saw Ozlem’s newest creation – Janis, i knew Layla would love her, & of course, she does 💖🌈 she has been added to her overcrowded cot, with Walt, & all her other very special friends! 💖
💖🌈 Love Nat xx
